Ok, so I know alot of you, I'm friends with on
myspace and alot of you are friends with the same people that I am but
there is also alot you who arent on myspace. One of my friends posted
this on her sight, acutally, and I thought it was just so totally
awesome I had to post it here for you all to see
"Live Jesus"
Okay,
I know this already sounds like some sorta super spiritual insight into
something deep and profound that I have discovered on my Life journey,
It's not....really.
Actually, I never thought about the above quote
much, until I was a waitress at a steakhouse, yes a steakhouse, here in
town. Your right, angel doesn't eat meat, unless it's Quiznos turkey,
which makes me a part time vegan. Yeah.
Anyways, it was my first
wait job and I was working with my friend wendy. We loved it there, the
tips & the management were good, the people we worked with were
nice.
The thing we ran into alot though, as Christians, is we were
in a sometimes wild enviroment, that and we were constantly invited out
to party, and well do God knows what....then made fun of , if we said
no.
But we always nicely declined, that's the key, I never wanted
to come off better then them. I mean who'd want that, and that would be
a bad way to build a relationship with the people that you are trying
to be a witness to. Judging them.
Months into the job, Jay, one
of the biggest partiers, and at times, biggest ridiculers, ran up to me
w/ tears in his eyes, okay at this point I have no idea what he was
gonna say, I was kinda freaked out, to be honest, cause he's a tough
guy ya know and well anyway, he told me that he had a dream the night
before, and in the dream wendy and I were there at the restaurant,
smoking, cussin, and getting drunk...then he grabbed me by the
shoulders and said: Never change angel, keep living for God, and then
he turned around and walked away. Just like that.
Then I saw
it, the world may want you to mess up on the outside, the people we
worked with may have ridiculed us and put us down, and whatever, but
deep down inside they hoped we didn't give in...they were crying out
for something different. They needed to see that we were real, not
running our mouth, and talking God, then flipping the switch and
contradicting all that we preached with our actions, lifestyle...
They
are watching us...in return I want to make sure my lifestyle matches my
talk. How we react and treat people, is living Jesus. How we answer
people is living Jesus. The way we live is living Jesus.
My heart
is to give the world something different...not a goody two shoes, not
someone who is cookie cutter perfect, but someone who is genuine, real,
sincere, and who's life is patterned after Jesus. Someone who has a
real relationship with Jesus, which you work at like any relationship,
I work at it daily, and also be someone who knows that this Heaven and
hell thing are real and people really do need Jesus. Live Jesus.
